A centralized internet, in which our data is secretly controlled and manipulated by a small group of giant platforms, is responsible for many of society's ills and a fracturing in our democracy. The good news, says civic entrepreneur and Project Liberty founder Frank McCourt, is that we have the decentralizing technology needed to seize control of our data and build a healthier information system. In this session, he discusses how to do that with Consensus chair Michael Casey, who is also the co-author of McCourt's book, Our Biggest Fight: Reclaiming Liberty, Humanity and Dignity in the Digital Age.
