Michael Casey is the Chairman of Consensus and the co-host of CoinDesk's Money Reimagined podcast. Until earlier this year, he was CoinDesk's chief content officer, overseeing a newsroom and multimedia team that won three prestigious journalism awards for its coverage of failed crypto exchange FTX. He now works on several projects aimed at advancing the Web3 creator economy and decentralized AI. Before joining CoinDesk in late 2019, Casey was a founding staffer at MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative and a senior lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management. He previously spent 18 years at The Wall Street Journal, where his last position was as a senior columnist covering global economic affairs. Casey has authored six acclaimed books. His latest – Our Biggest Fight: Reclaiming Liberty, Dignity and Humanity in the Digital Age, co-authored with the civic entrepreneur and Project Liberty founder, Frank McCourt – was published on March 12.
