Sahel is the Leader of Buchanan's Blockchain and Digital Asset Practice Group where she develops, monitors, and assesses the legal needs of clients with respect to all things blockchain, crypto, and digital assets. Sahel is also an international tax lawyer at her firm and has more than twenty-five years of legal experience navigating and adhering to U.S. enforcement rules pertaining to U.S. federal taxation reporting laws in the United States . She is equipped to review foreign and domestic regulatory oversight regimes, suggesting improvements and consulting with foreign competent authorities and tax administrators (as needed). She also has strong relationships with government tax authorities and banking regulators, internationally. As the Chair of her firm’s Blockchain and Digital Asset Practice Group, she has a keen interest in blockchain technology and ways governments can work together at home and abroad to develop a global tax reporting regime that responsibly drives innovation and fuels progress.
