Mashal Waqar is the Head of Marketing at Octant. Her governance roles include being a Gitcoin GG20 Grants Council Member, Arbitrum Thank board’s Oversight Council Member, and RARI Foundation Delegate. She was also a researcher in EF’s Summer of Protocols’s first cohort, where she created a board game about social and gifting protocols, to make protocol studies more accessible. Recognized by Pakistan's Foreign Minister, UAE’s Minister of Economy, Forbes Middle East 30 Under 30, and Entrepreneur Middle East, she has a strong background from past years in projects related to gender advancement, entrepreneurship, and growth. Mashal has co-authored research on the state of grants in web3, quadratic funding use cases, protocols, token models, community building, and entrepreneurship. She’s an RIT Alumni Association board member and Executive Advisor to sports fund, OneToWatch.
