Brian Klein is a partner at the litigation boutique Waymaker and a former federal prosecutor with one of the nation’s leading cryptocurrency litigation practices. He has been representing clients in the industry since 2013 and has handled dozens upon dozens of SEC, CFTC, and DOJ matters around the country. This includes: representing Block.one, which raised $4 billion through a token sale (the largest ever), in its SEC settlement for which it paid a $24 million penalty; defending Roman Storm against criminal charges brought in the Southern District of New York related to his alleged involvement with the Tornado Cash protocol; and representing Kraken, a leading digital token trading platform, in its settlement with the SEC in connection with its U.S. on-chain staking program. Brian contributes to the national legal dialogue as the chair and founder of the American Bar Association’s Blockchain and Digital Currency National Institute, which will hosting its tenth annual event later this year.
